Weddings

The Trout Club gets numerous requests for weddings, as many prospective brides and grooms seek a more natural setting for their nuptials than the usual house of worship or hotel ballroom.

Holly Jurvakainen and Stephen Wilson exchanged their vows on the lawn next to the Rainbow Cabin, and with the Gallatin River in the background.  Below are some of the photos they took of this and a few comments from the groom's mother, Katherine Wilson.

Dear Mike and Helen:

My new daughter-in-law, Holly Jurvakainen Wilson has requested that I email you some photos of her recent marriage to my son, Steve, at your wonderful Trout Club.  It would take all day to tell you how wonderful the weekend was and how perfect your property met everyone's needs and exceeded our expectations.  We all declared that this was the best, most fun anyone had ever had at a wedding!

A postscript:

I know this offering may be a bit excessive, but as I said, it was the BEST wedding ever.  Family and friends came from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Arizona, and oh yes, a few from Montana.  We had a meal for 50 served in Cutthroat the evening before the wedding which I prepared with helping hands from my brother-in-law and cousin; a wedding breakfast outside of Rainbow the day of the wedding prepared by the father of the groom and his good friend, Larry; hors d'oevres after the ceremony by the bride's parents and grandmother; and a feast that evening prepared by Doc Watson, Chef.  I think the attendance for the wedding was around 75.

It is now 3 weeks after, and the happiness experienced there, is still with me, as I know it is with all who shared a part in such a special 3 days at The Trout Club.  Thanks to you, Sam McAndrew your great housekeeper and her husband Don, and all who helped create such a splendid venue for such joy!  I would be happy to recommend your place in the Gallatin Valley.

"Hi Mike! what a wonderful wedding we had up at your place! We ended up having it behind the Cutthroat Cabin - with the trees and hill behind us--how wonderful!!  You really have a great place up there.  It was very relaxing!  Thank you so much"... Penny Davies.
