This mountain
retreat offers something for everyone.
 |
Fishing, photography and backpacking are available
right out the front door.
River
rafting, horseback riding and hunting guides are within a
ten minute drive... |
|
...not to mention legendary skiing, tennis, and an
Arnold Palmer Golf course at the nearby Big Sky Resort. |
|
We are only an hour and half drive from Yellowstone
National Park and 25 min. from Bozeman.
The
Lewis and Clark Caverns and the Dinosaur Museum in Bozeman
are places you do not want to miss. |
|
For easy hiking and lots of beauty, do not miss nearby Hyalite
Recreation Area in the Gallatin National Forest.
You can drive there by taking 19th Avenue South in Bozeman. It is 12
miles south of Bozeman. If you have a map, you can also take the
shortcut from The Trout Club by going East on Cottonwood Road off of Hwy
191.
 |
Palisade Falls in Hyalite is a result of a
prehistoric lava flow. This flow was frozen in time in the
form of unique hexagon pillars of rock called "columnar
basalt." Today East Fork Hyalite Creek follows the ancient
flow and creates the spectacular 80 foot falls. A 1/2 mile
paved trail leads to the base of the falls. |
|
Helen, Nicholas, Alice and Mike take a photo shot at
the base of one of the streams cascading down from Palisade
Falls. |
 |
 |
Grotto Falls in Hyalite is reached by passing Window
Rock on your hike to Arch Falls and Hyalite Lake on Hyalite
Creek Trail #427.
If you want to enjoy river rafting, check with
Flying Pig River
Rafting -
Yellowstone river rafting and much more. |
Lone
Mountain is the home of two luxury ski resorts: Big Sky and
Moonlight Basin. It is just a short drive from the cabins.
Bridger Bowl Ski Resort is located 15 miles on the other
side of Bozeman. It is much less expensive than the luxury
resorts and it is only a few minutes further away.
