Poems From The Darkside of Reality

THE CHILDREN OF THE 90's

Today's generation
has been allowed to much reign.
They know they have the world
in their hands,
just ask them;
they'll tell you the same.
They call the Welfare on their parents,
when they do not want to go to school
then home is where they'll stay.
Discipline is not allowed
and the system is in the way,
for the children of the Nineties
Know just the cards to play.

FAMILY SECRETS

As I crouch in the corner
my husband yells and screams,
he grabs me by the throat
and shatters all my dreams.
The love Disappears
as he repeatedly threatens my life,
I am no longer his companion
nor am I his wife.
He punches me in the chest
and I am unable to breathe,
he watches the pain in my eyes
as I fall to my knees.
He bites my throat
and claws my face,
he is no longer a man
simply a disgrace.
My nose bleeds excessively
as my son looks on,
my face is covered with bruises
as he asks what is wrong.
This is what marriage has become
through society today,
closets still hold secrets
and the key's still thrown away.

SILENCE

Silence is a mystery.
It is something that you hear,
but nothing that you can see.
Sometimes it's called peace
sometimes tranquility,
but it's when the noises cease
and you have the ability
to think without distraction.
You cannot hear a voice
but you can see the action
of the world around you
without noise.
You cannot hear the screaming
but still see the violence,
this small favor
is called silence.
